There Is Reason To Hope That New Depression Medication Will
Work Safely And More Effectively
Nothing ever seems to change in so far
as symptoms and suffering related to depression go. There are
no doubts as to the fact that depression happens to be a very
serious health concern that must be treated in the most
effective manner possible. There is therefore a pressing need
to come up with improved and new depression medications that
need to be a major improvement over the current crop of
depression medications.
Unwanted Side Effects
The unfortunate truth about existing depression medications
is that they cause many unwanted and potentially very dangerous
side effects and it is the risk of developing such side effects
that gives rise to an urgent need to develop new depression
medications. The treatments that have been tried out in the
past did not do much to alleviate the symptoms of depression
though they did cause many unwanted side effects in the
process.
The use of anti-depressants has been tried for many long
years and they have in fact caused many unwelcome side effects
such as feeling very lethargic and helping to make normal
functioning very difficult. No doubt, advances have been made
in the way that newer anti-depressants work but the lurking
danger of unseen side effects remains which is why new
depression medications are needed that need to do their work
without causing those unnecessary side effects.
New depression medications need to be developed that can
help put an end to using antidepressants and even to avoid
putting a patient under electro-conclusive therapy (shock
treatments). The good news is that there is good reason to hope
that current advancements in treating depression will soon
throw up new depression medications that will prove to be safer
and more effective.
At present, many of the existing depression medications are
being studied and modified in a bid to come up with the best
new depression medications. What’s even more heartening to
learn is that these new depression medications are working more
effectively and causing fewer side effects, though much more
work needs to be done in order to eliminate all harmful side
effects.
New depression medications are in fact being developed all
the time and even in the case of anti-depressants these are
working better and at low doses generally they will not cause
any side effects. If you have heard Jimi Hendrix singing about
manic depression then you may be surprised to learn that that
manic depression was nothing other than bipolar depression.
Unfortunately, this is a form of depression that still cannot
be identified through physiological means such as through brain
scans and blood tests. It is the symptoms that help identify
the problem.
